Age 82, of Dormont, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, after a long battle and is now at peace with the Angels. Daughter to the late Leonard and Anna (Carmen) Malley, middle sister to Nancy Greiner and the late Barbara Rippy, Tanya was raised in Castle Shannon and graduated from South Hills High School. Cherished wife of almost 60 years to the late Robert Beardsley (her high school sweetheart), Tanya was a loving, caring and thoughtful person – she was beautiful inside and out. She had a special grace, dazzling smile and a certain carriage that made her stand out among her peers. Tanya was a woman of many talents – art, poetry, sewing, baking, gardening, babysitting, fashion and decorating. She won accolades in high school for her poem, “The Lord thought – and beauty sprang in place, The Lord built – and life was wrought in grace, The Lord smiled – and love illumined space”. Some will remember her as their coach or Girl Scout Leader, many as “Mrs. Beardsley” the friendly and outgoing Head Bank Teller and Manager at Union National Bank in Banksville Plaza. She was also a devoted Christian Mother and Eucharistic Minister at St. Catherine of Siena Church for many years. But Tanya’s best accomplishments in life were within her family. Loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was truly the rock in the storm for us all, always patient, kind and caring. Tanya will be terribly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her five children, Diana (Bill) Knapp, Shelly (Jim) Smith, Kurt Beardsley, Celeste (Doug) Kohnfelder, and Randy (Julie) Beardsley, 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends received 3-8 p.m. on Thursday only at BRUSCO-NAPIER FUNERAL SERVICE, LTD., 2201 Bensonia Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish--St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1810 Belasco Ave., Pgh, PA 15216. Burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Park.
